Walking with Jesus: Forgive!

Walking with Jesus: Forgive!

We need God’s forgiveness, and we need to forgive others unconditionally. We must forgive others in the same way our Lord, Jesus has forgiven us. Our offense was our sin. Confess every sin to Him, for He is faithful and just to forgive our sin (our offenses), and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our offenses were cancelled on Calvary’s Cross. He took what we had, our SIN, and gave us what He had, His LIFE! Our sins were cast into the seas, submerged by their very weight, never to rise again. Our offenses were done away with and have been removed far from us, as far as the East is from the West. Our offenses were cancelled on the Cross, purged by the flow of His precious Blood. Jesus demonstrated unconditional love for us on the Cross. Though sin had marred Him beyond recognition, He gave us absolution, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” It was for our offenses that He hung on the Cross – the weight of our sin, every one of them. Yet He prayed to the Father, with all compassion, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Whose offenses have we failed to forgive? Are we halted by past hurts and pain inflicted by others, injustices, maliciousness, unfairness, anger, bitterness, deceit, envy, and all evil speaking against us? Release them all! Give them to Jesus! Let them go! Break Free and walk in the liberty that is in Jesus! Forgiveness illuminates our darkest ways & brings us to His marvelous light. We are made whole when we forgive. It liberates us from the shackles & the weights of bondage. It frees the soul to move out, to move up & to walk freely, onward with Jesus. Forgiveness is the fragrance of grace, life, hope and peace. Forgiveness is the fragrance of love. Forgiveness enjoins us to favors and blessings. Forgive to be forgiven. It’s the right attitude for Lent.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for demonstrating unconditional forgiveness, in that while I was still in sin, you forgave me. Grant me that measure of your grace so that I can forgive others in the way you have forgiven me. Give me the strength and courage to break free from the shackles of unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, and anger, that have kept me bound. Help me to look beyond the faults of others and give me grace to forgive them as you have forgiven me. Grant me Your peace now and forevermore. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
